Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue A. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She earned a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer working in the fields of theater, film as well as television. She started her career as an actor in theater but then proceeded to make appearances in numerous TV shows, both mainstream and independent films. Her most well-known roles were as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as in BET's huge The Book of Negroes. The two series garnered praise from critics, and she also took home a variety of awards. She made her professional debut as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. Her stage credits include The Broadway production of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film work is highlighted by her performances on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her part as a character in the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
